[Software] iOS 14.5 is available on iPAds and iPhones around the world

The iOS 14.5 update has finally reached all Apple devices that already support the previous version of iOS. iOS 14.5 brings several interesting and useful updates.

 

With this update we can bypass Face ID on our iPhone and unlock it if we use an Apple Watch. This is intended to be able to unlock without having to remove our mask and works with iPhone X and newer phones along with Apple Watch 3 and newer smartwatches.

Support for PS5 and Xbox Series X controllers has been included, more diverse English voice options for Siri. iOS 14.5 implements App Tracking Transparency which requires apps to ask the user for permission before tracking activity elsewhere and force listings in the App Store to reveal exactly what data is being tracked.

 

Apple AirTags will only be compatible with an iPhone with iOS 14.5 onwards, so we will need to update if we want to use these locators. Other Apple applications that have received visual and interface redesigns include Apple Podcasts and Apple News. Apple Fitness Plus users can stream their audio and video to AirPlay 2-compatible televisions and devices.

 

The iPhone 12 models also feature Dual SIM support for 5G connectivity to allow both to connect to 5G-enabled accounts. Smart data mode has also been tweaked to better optimize battery and data consumption in iOS 14.5. Voice Control for Accessibility is expanding support in English to Australia and Canada, as well as in Spanish in Mexico, Spain and the United States.
