[Auto] Fiat Chrysler sold 469,651 vehicles in the US in the first quarter

FCA noted that commercial vehicle fleet sales also saw a sharp increase of 24 percent during the first quarter. Fleet sales accounted for 19 percent of the company's total in the quarter.

 

"Despite strong sales at the beginning of last year, before Covid-19 shook us all, this quarter there was a very strong recovery in sales to individuals compared to a year ago," said the FCA sales manager in the United States, Jeff Kommor, in a statement.

 

Of the six FCA brands, four experienced sales increases and only Dodge and Fiat reduced their demand compared to 2020.

 

One more quarter, Jeep, the brand specializing in SUVs and SUVs, was the group with the highest sales, with 197,545 units, 8 percent more than a year ago; and followed by Ram, the manufacturer of pickup trucks and vans, with 162,920 units, a growth of 16 percent.

 

Chrysler sold 39,737 units, up 32 percent from a year ago, while Alfa Romeo grew 25 percent to 4,646 vehicles.

For its part, Dodge sales fell 28 percent to 63,988 units, while Fiat's fell to 815 units, also 28 percent less than in 2020.

One of Jeep's biggest models, the Wrangler, had its best first quarter ever with the sale of 49,646 vehicles, a 25 percent increase from a year ago. Grand Cherokee sales increased 10 percent to 55,198 units.
