[Auto] Schneider Electric México and Mercado Libre launch exclusive section in the e-commerce platform

This strategic alliance responds to Schneider Electric Mexico's ambitious goal of increasing its sales through e-commerce by 33 percent by the end of 2021.

 

This goal is the result of the new needs marked by consumers in the digital market, since, according to the Mexican Association of Online Sales in Mexico, at the end of 2020, general online sales represented 15.6 billion dollars.

 

For their part, five out of ten companies in Mexico doubled their online sales last year *, so this alliance will also benefit unique users, as well as small and medium-sized companies. In this sense, customers will be able to find articles for the security of their home, support and technology for home offices, gamers, as well as automation and energy saving services for smart homes, companies and buildings, which they can receive throughout Mexico in Less than 24 hours and at no extra cost on orders over $ 299 pesos.

For this reason and in response to new digital trends, where 75 percent of users research online before buy, we have decided to continue strengthening our e-commerce strategy, finding the ideal partner in Mercado Libre, a company with more than 20 years of experience in the sector and with a high-capacity and reliable purchasing platform ”, commented Óscar Lambert, vice president of the Home and Distribution division of Schneider Electric México y Centroamérica.

 

For his part, Alejandro Caballero, director of Mercado Libre's marketplace, pointed out: “having a sales channel in e-commerce today is essential, not only to ensure the growth and positioning of large brands such as Schneider Electric in the ecosystem but to offer users new shopping alternatives that are much more comfortable, safe and efficient that adapt to the current context, and which will most likely define people's consumption habits from now on in this new normal ”.

 

Since the launch of this new section and according to figures from Mercado Libre, sales of products in the “Electrical Components” sub-category have tripled their sales compared to last year; specifically in switches and contacts the increase was 635 percent, cables with 581 percent and panels and meters with 444 percent. These figures reflect that the new strategy implemented by Schneider Electric Mexico has placed the demand for its products where current customers require it, saving them time and ensuring their health, because in this way they do not have to leave their place of work or home, In addition, all users have a protected purchase that offers them security and confidence when purchasing online.
