#Hassan.
After Bentley, Ford, Jaguar and Lotus, it's Volvo's turn to announce its desire to go all-electric, starting in 2030. We suspected it a little, here we have now the confirmation: Volvo will indeed go electric, and this definitively. It is in a press release published this morning that the Swedish brand confirmed this news, announcing that it will no longer offer any model powered by a thermal engine by 2030. Suffice to say that it is tomorrow, on a scale of the automotive market. A transition that was to be expected, however, as the brand has been focusing on electrification for many years.of its range, while all models currently sold have their hybrid alternative. These versions should therefore also soon disappear, since only electric vehicles will remain at the start of the next decade. A great development, all in all quite logical for the manufacturer, which then follows in the footsteps of other brands which have also chosen to take this turn. => Discover all the manufacturers who will soon become 100% electric For now, the only zero-emission model present in the range is the Volvo XC40 Recharge , powered by an electric motor of 408 horsepower, associated with a 78 kWh battery. The catalog should nevertheless quickly grow, as the brand has just lifted the veil on a brand new zero-emission model, the C40. The first vehicle in the range designed solely with an electric motor, this coupe SUV is then able to cover approximately 420 kilometers on a single charge, thanks to its battery with a capacity identical to that of the XC40. Later, a total of seven vehicles will appear, as a teaser had shown, illustrating several silhouettes. Strong ambitions According to the manufacturer's forecasts, half of its sales should be made in electric by 2025, while the rest will be hybrid, while simple thermal engines should start to disappear very quickly. This is already the case for diesel, which is no longer offered on the very latest models, and which should therefore accelerate its decline in the years to come, while this fuel is increasingly criticized by our leaders. Volvo is therefore betting everything on the rapid development of the charging infrastructure network , "promoting the transition to electric mobility for all", as the brand specifies in its press release. Its CEO Hakan Samuelsson has indeed declared that “thehe vehicles equipped with an internal combustion engine have no long-term future […] We are firmly committed to becoming a 100% electric vehicle manufacturer by 2030. This will enable us to meet the expectations of our customers and be part of the solution in the fight against climate change ”. The Scandinavian firm then follows in the footsteps of several other manufacturers such as Alpine, Jaguar , Ford, Lotus and Bentley, which are also looking to a massive electrification of their range in the years to come. In addition, Volvo wants to go even further in its modernization, by only selling its electric cars online and no longer in classic dealerships. The brand indeed wants to simplify the purchasing process for customers, while its boss announces that " instead of thousands of options, you will have a kind of dish of the day with good combinations that our customers can choose, with a delivery fast. But we will also be able to build cars à la carte ”.
