Juanma Moreno, presidente de la Junta, en un acto del PP-A por el 28-F en Carmona

The de-escalation plan for the third wave of the coronavirus will be "proportional" and "prudent" in Andalusia from next week. They want to prevent the fourth wave from ruining the ground gained from Covid in the last month. It was announced by the president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, in a commemorative act of 28F, community day, organized by the regional PP in the town of Carmona.

"Let no one expect that we are going to do a crazy de-escalation, but it will be a reasoned de-escalation, always with the experts and always proportional to the possibilities that the Covid has of infecting us, which are still many," Moreno has advanced. She recalled that on Wednesday, March 3, the committee of experts that advises the Andalusian Government will meet to review the current measures.

On the table are measures such as opening the tap for mobility between provinces and municipalities with low incidence and extending the hours of non-essential shops, which must now close at 6:00 p.m. Any step will be taken "always with great caution", she has pointed out.

"In 24 days we have reduced the incidence rate of Covid in Andalusia by 75 percent."

In his intervention focused on the Day of Andalusia, the first that is marked by the state of alarm and the pandemic, the head of the regional government of the PP and Ciudadanos has reviewed the contagion data. He has indicated that in 24 days "we have reduced the incidence by 75 percent" for every 100,000 inhabitants, taking as a reference the data accumulated in 14 days. It has gone from a rate of 991 cases as of February 1 to 235 to date, which he has attributed to the "collective effort" of Andalusians, which shows that "we are on the right track."

Mass vaccination plan

However, Moreno has warned that the pandemic continues to claim lives, 93 in the last 24 hours. These are data that "should lead to prudence and reflection," he said. The third wave is "more complex, hurtful and harsh" than the previous two.

Andalusia begins to see the light at the end of the tunnel, but still far away. "I hope that this 28F is the last in which we have to be with mobility limitations, permanently conditioned by the Covid," the Andalusian president stressed. "It is true that in one year the Covid has not disappeared and probably not in two or three years," he proclaimed.

Moreno has indicated that the Board is making all the resources available to ensure that these vaccines reach the maximum number of Andalusians. He hopes that from the month of April with the massive reception of vials, as the Ministry of Health has promised, we can reach a broad immunity in Andalusia that allows us to recover social, family, affection and emotion spaces.
