Fatal road accident shortly after 6pm yesterday, Friday 19 February 2021, along provincial road 36, inside the tunnel that connects the hamlet of Braulins di Trasaghis with the municipality of Bordano.

It was a frontal impact that involved a motorcycle and a car. The balance sheet is dramatic: one dead, one young man dying and a third (slightly) injured.

To lose his life the young Achaq Hamza, a Moroccan citizen born in Friuli Venezia Giulia, resident in Gemona, would have turned 19 in a few days.

He was traveling on a Kawasaki Haevy and was transporting his friend, CB, 22, from Bordano, who was received in very serious conditions at the Santa Maria della Misericordia hospital in Udine, where he struggles between life and death.

The driver of the car, a Daihatsu Terios, was driven by NP, a 67-year-old from Bordano, who was not seriously injured.

The causes of the accident are being investigated by the Carabinieri of the Gemona del Friuli and Buja (Compagnia di Tolmezzo) stations, who intervened for the surveys and road conditions. On site the Fire Brigade of the Gemona del Friuli detachment.

Recovery of vehicles by Guerra CarService of Gemona del Friuli.
