Microsoft Office para ordenadores.

Although we practically no longer remember, Microsoft Office has always been a product that has reached the stores and that we could buy like the one that takes an external hard drive home: we took it from the shelf, we went to the box, we installed it in the computer and we forget to pay every month because it is already ours and we can install it as many times as we want in the following years.

Of course, unlike the subscription model, which updates the software with each new feature, improvement and bug correction, those versions of 2007, 2008, etc. they were anchored and we could only improve them by paying a small amount that allowed us to upload to the next version. Of course, Microsoft maintained technical support for all of them with periodic security patches if necessary.

Microsoft returns to the old model

Thus, Microsoft has published an entry on its blog in which it has announced its plans to bring to stores a new version that we can buy and that will become our property. This is Office 2021, which will hit stores in the second half of the year and will not be removed so that they continue to promote their Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) that we can enjoy on several computers at the same time through a monthly or annual payment . This version will replace the current one, Office 2019, which many came to think would be the last.

Ordenador con Windows 10.

This Office 2021 will have two versions, one for commercial use called LTSC (Long Term Servicing Channel) and another for private users who do not want to be linked to an annual subscription (which usually costs about 99 euros) In the case of the professional edition, it will bring improvements in the performance of Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as visual additions, compatibility with dark mode and a very defined approach towards those clients who have technical difficulties to work with the cloud and with all their computers connected to the internet.

Office 2021 will come to both Windows 10 and Mac computers, with 64 and 32-bit versions, for users who still have older computers, and from Redmond they foresee that this new version will reach a lifetime of about five years. At the moment there is no more information about the price and the final launch date, although the company has already warned that they will reveal new details soon.
