With a maximum ecological bonus of 7,000 euros extended until June 2021, what is the price of the most affordable electric cars on the French market?

[Updated on 11/02/2021 at 17h25] The amount of the environmental bonus can reach 7000 euros since 1 st June 2020 . Before that date, the ceiling was set at 6,000 euros. The revaluation of the maximum bonus up to 1000 euros is part of the government measures included in the automotive recovery plan , presented on May 26, 2020. A plan intended to support the restart of the automotive industry, severely impacted by the crisis of the coronavirus .

New bonus at 7000 euros
However, the bonus of 7,000 euros is not applicable to all 100% electric models . First, the purchase price of the vehicle in question must be less than or equal to 45,000 euros (with a CO2 rate less than or equal to 20 g / km). As a reminder, it falls to 3000 euros for models displayed between 45,000 and 60,000 euros, a threshold above which no bonus applies.

Limited to 27% of the purchase price
In addition, the maximum bonus cannot exceed 27% of the cost of said vehicle . Being set at 7,000 euros, this concerns models displayed at less than 25,926 euros . Below this threshold, the bonus is reduced in proportion to the price of the vehicle. Finally, it is important to note that it does not apply to homologations as a quadricycle, subject to a bonus of 900 euros, like the Renault Twizy and Citroën Ami .

Maximum bonus extended until June 2021
When it was put in place last June, the maximum bonus, temporarily increased from 6,000 to 7,000 euros, was to be valid until the end of 2020. Finally, this exceptional aid was extended for another six months. . Thus, the bonus of 7,000 euros is in effect until June 30, 2021 inclusive .
