Elisabeth, 81, passed away due to her advanced age and the protocols imposed in Germany by the new strain of the coronavirus have prohibited the arrival of flights from the United Kingdom, so Klopp is not allowed to arrive at the ceremony.

Upon hearing the news, the Liverpool manager decided to publish a message in the local German newspaper 'Schwarzwaelder Bote'.

“She meant everything to me, she was a true mother in the best sense of the word. As a devout Christian, I know that now he will be in a better place, ”said the coach with a Borussia Dortmund past.

Klopp had last visited his mother on her 80th birthday and regrets not being able to travel to Germany.

Elisabeth, 81, lost her life last Tuesday and the Liverpool manager will not be able to travel to Germany after the government does not allow the entry of trips from the United Kingdom.
