Dark Posted February 4, 2021 Posted February 4, 2021 Israeli company Gilat Satellite Networks announced Thursday that it was awarded a "multi-million dollar" contract to provide mission-critical telecommunications systems for 29 airports in Peru. The award of the high availability communication system was awarded by the Peruvian Corporation of Commercial Airports and Aviation (Corpac), Gilat explains in a statement on its website. This announcement comes after the "successful execution" of large government projects by Gilat and puts the company in a good position to reach other "great deals" in the country, the document said. Gilat will design, supply, implement and commission equipment for communication, navigation and surveillance services (CNS) at airports in Peru. Corpac is a government entity in charge of the administration of most of Peru's airports. "Gilat was selected by Corpac because of its proven ability to execute large-scale government projects," said Arieh Rohrstock, Gilat Peru general manager and corporate vice president. "This project will open the door to additional large agreements, as we intend to fulfill our strategy of significantly increasing business in Peru," he added. 1
