Ferrari has not been idle, quite the contrary, chaining for more than a year the novelties, between the SF90 Stradale , 812 GTS and other Roma, of which we recently took the wheel. And the Maranello brand seems more than determined not to stop there, as it already has some plans for the future and is actively working on the development of its future flagship model, the Purosangue SUV.. Highly anticipated but also very feared by fans of the Maranello firm, it will have the difficult task of replacing the GTC4 Lusso which disappeared this year, but should also help to increase sales, like Lamborghini with its Urus or Bentley with his Bentayga. It will nevertheless still be necessary to show a little patience, while the SUV has not yet revealed all the details concerning it and that its launch is not expected before the course of the year 2022. But if it is There are still badly bad gray areas around the first SUV of the Italian brand, we now know that it will not remain alone in the range for long.

And for good reason, and as revealed by our colleagues from Car magazine , no less than two electric SUVs are currently under development, and which would see the light of day after the release of the Purosangue. If information about these models is still almost non-existent, we know that the first should see the light of day in 2024, while the second will arrive in 2026. Both would then be based on the platform of the first elevated model of the firm, which will embark meanwhile thermal and hybrid engines, without more information for the moment. Anyway, this strategy may come as a surprise, as Ferrari CEO Louis Camillieri said a few weeks ago that the prancing horse brand would never become 100% electric.. It will nevertheless have to adapt to the requirements of the European Union and comply with the rules by offering more zero-emission vehicles, in order to limit the damage as regards the fine foreseen from next year.

Purosangue: we know more
While relatively little is still known about the two SUVs, whose internal code names are F244 and F245, Car Magazine has been a bit more talkative about the Purosangue , which should be available at launch with a 4.0 V8. hybrid liters developing a trifle of 700 horsepower. Later, a more high-end and more efficient version equipped with a V12 of approximately 800 horsepower will also see the light of day, while no 100% electric version should be offered, this one being reserved for other models. According to internal sources relayed by our colleagues, the Purosangue should be even sportier than the Aston Martin DBX and other Rolls-Royce Cullinanand will focus on its aerodynamics rather than its off-road capabilities. Logical, for a Ferrari badged model. Finally, it is rumored that the SUV will opt for antagonistic doors, like what Mazda offers in particular with its new MX-30. This nevertheless remains to be confirmed, given the absence of a spyshot attesting to this particularity.

It only remains to wait a few months before knowing even more about this Ferrari Purosangue, which according to the brand should be neither more nor less than the fastest SUV on the market. This should be felt in the price, which should be around € 300,000 for the entry-level version.
