King_of_lion Posted December 20, 2020 Posted December 20, 2020 We already know that BMW Philippines plans to bring more electric models to the country soon. Just last month, Spencer Yu, president of SMC Asia Cars Distributors Corporation (better known as BMW Philippines), said that they will be studying the possibility of offering the all-new iX to the Philippines. Well, it looks like BMW is indeed serious about bringing it to the market in the future. While we were checking out the company's website, we happened to see the iX present on their model lineup. No specifications were present, but they did highlight the iX's most notable features. These included its unique monolithic design, futuristic cabin, extensive 600 km range, and two electric motors that produce a combined output of 500 PS. Once launched in the country, it will serve as the automaker's first-ever EV in the market, as well as their first-ever electric crossover in the Philippines. It will be similar in size to the X5, but features a more angular look, inside and out. Like the all-new 4 Series, the iX gets a massive dual front grille, sleek LED headlights and taillights, and stylish alloy wheels. The interior, meanwhile, has a lounge-like design. It has a flat floor, dual displays on the dashboard, and a floating center console that manages the iX's in-car controls. Depending on the spec, the iX will come with different kinds of leather finish, color combinations, and high-quality modern materials. With production set to begin in July 2021, the EV will be launched as a 2022 model year vehicle. With that in mind, it looks like we'll have to wait for a little while longer before it makes its way to the country. But at least BMW Philippines appears to have already slated the iX for the market. Hopefully, by that time there will already be more EV infrastructures in the country.
