Ayacucho FC beat Sporting Cristal on penalties and managed to win the title of winner of phase 2 of League 1. The Ayacucho team got the chance to play two semi-final matches against the Celestes and be able to tempt the final of the championship against Universitario sports.

“Our institution has filed a claim with the Justice Commission of the Peruvian Football Federation for an improper participation of professional footballers (not eligible) of the Ayacucho FC team in the final match of phase 2 of the Movistar League 1, who have intervened without having the regulatory documentation ”, reports the document published by Sporting Cristal on its social networks.

The celestial team claims improper registrations in the Ayacucho box and explains that the corresponding sanctions are in the administrative area of the club.

“Out of respect for our principles and values, in our search for the development of Peruvian football, we cannot be mere spectators in the face of what would be serious acts of irregularity and breach of rules, so we intend to set precedents and avoid future similar situations that may arise in informality, impunity and / or injustices ”, he explains.

"We record that we have asked the Justice Commission that the definitive corresponding sanctions be of an administrative and / or economic nature, but not sports, because we consider that the classification to the final of the Movistar League 1 should be achieved on the soccer fields" , ends the statement.

Sporting Cristal and Ayacucho FC will play the semifinals on December 9 and 12 to find out who will be able to go to the final of the Peruvian tournament and access the group stage of the 2020 Copa Libertadores.
