G h o s t l y. Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 Good arms and timely hits allowed the Margarita Braves to sweep in the doubleheader that they had this Wednesday against Navegantes del Magallanes. Early on, the islands won 4-3 at the hands of Erick Salcedo, who finished 3-2 with two RBIs and one scored. Margarita went ahead with three runs in the second inning after a triple by Salcedo and a single by José Martínez. “La Nave” approached by drop, with a hairline in the third and a dirty one in the fourth, the product of a blunder by third baseman Pedro Martínez, but the Margariteños added one more in the fifth to extend their lead to 4-2. Although they continued to press, and even Leonardo Reginatto drove in a third score in the sixth inning, the electricians did not manage to reverse the loss, even though in their last offensive opportunity they had the tie at third in the legs of Anthony Pereira. The victory went to Kender Villegas (1-0) after a perfect one-inning relief, after the departure of starter Manuel Rondón who completed 4.0 innings of just one earned run and left his ERA at 1.80. Carlos Navas scored the rescue and the experienced Wilfredo Boscán (0-1) took the backhand by allowing five hits and three runs in 2.0 innings. In the second hour, with a comeback included, Bravos won 3-2. Magallanes hit first in the second inning with a hairline pushed by Gabriel Noriega, but at the end of that same inning Diego Rincones tied for the insulares. La Nave made another attempt in the fourth and went up 2-1 with a double from outfielder Ezequiel Carrera. However, history repeated itself and Margarita tied and flipped the board in the low of that inning due to a shooting error by Noriega.
