ASUS brings us the TUF Gaming VG34VQL1B, an impressive ultra-wide curved monitor, with 21: 9 resolution and a huge refresh rate thanks to its 165 Hz, HDR support and 100% compatible with AMD FreeSync and NVIDIA Adaptive Sync. Which makes it a spectacular gaming monitor on paper. But how is this new monitor from ASUS presented?

One of the elements that differentiates the PC from the consoles is the support in personal computers of all types of monitors, with different resolutions and different form factors. And it is that ultra-panoramic monitors are excellent for certain genres for which having the maximum information on the screen is essential, such as strategy games where we are allowed to see more of the battlefield.

We are facing an ultra panoramic monitor. 21: 9, with a WQHD resolution (3440 × 1440 pixels), it also has a refresh rate of 165 Hz, which in combination with its response time of only 1 ms makes it a high-caliber gaming monitor, which thanks upon its resolution it will allow us not to lose detail of the action in the game.

The monitor also follows several VESA regulations, such as the Adaptative Sync, so with this monitor you can take full advantage of your NVIDIA card with support for this technology. In the case that your card is an AMD Radeon, then you have to know that this monitor has FreeSync Premium support.

The second supported VESA standard is the DisplayHDR 400, which natively supports the high dynamic range format, HDR10.

The TUF Gaming VG34VQL1B from ASUS has a series of technologies, some exclusive to ASUS, built into the monitor as standard.

Shadow Boost, which makes the darkest and least visible areas in the game lighter.
GamePlus that offers additional tools such as a frame counter so that you know how your games are performing,
GameVisual provides 7 preset viewing modes,

ASUS DisplayWidget
Screen anti-flicker technology.
Technology to reduce the amount of blue light so that the monitor does not overload the view from using it for a long time.
All of them can be configured through ASUS DisplayWidget Lite software.

At the back we can find two HDMI 2.0 ports, two DisplayPort v1.4 ports, Actually the support for HDMI 2.1 is slightly missing, but this is not a problem since none of the new consoles generation supports these resolutions, but at the PC level it would not be bad at all, although the DisplayPort v1.4 delivers more than enough.

As for the ability to reproduce audio, the monitor comes with a pair of 2W speakers and comes with a mini-jack for headphones.

It also has four USB 3.0 ports of type A, of which three of them are to connect peripherals and the fourth to connect it to the PC, so the monitor has a built-in USB hub as standard.
