Porsche Taycan traveled over 42 kilometers in DRIFT and entered the Book of Records

He drove over 42 kilometers
Rear-wheel drive version can already be ordered in China
  Taycan holds several world records

Porsche Taycan also set a world record: the longest drift made by an electric vehicle. Instructor Dennis Retera was behind the wheel.

The Porsche Taycan, the brand's first 100% electric series vehicle in Stuttgart, is a true record hunter. So far, Taycan holds records in several disciplines: he did 3,425 km on the high-speed track in Nardo (endurance), has the best time in his class of 7:42 minutes on the legendary Nurburgring Nordschleife and has 26 sprints. from 0 to 200 km / h at Lahr airfield.

Today, Taycan can boast a performance worthy of the Book of Records: the longest controlled skid made by an electric car.

It all took place on a 200-meter round circuit at the Horsenheimring's Porsche Experience Center, and no one other than instructor Dennis Retera was behind the wheel of a rear-wheel drive Taycan.

According to Joanne Brent, Guinness World Records judge, who also certified the result, Retera covered - I repeat, in DRIFT - 42,171 kilometers in 55 minutes.

Despite her experience behind the wheel, Retera admits it was a real challenge. "When stability control systems are turned off, maintaining a controlled skid with Taycan is extremely easy, especially on the rear-wheel drive version. However, it was very tiring to stay focused during the 210 laps, especially as irrigated asphalt. of the drift circuit does not provide the same grip on the whole surface, "he said.
