During the celebrations for the Day of the Creole Song or Halloween, the head of the Lima Police Region, General Jorge Luis Cayas, reported that about 22,000 policemen will be deployed in different parts of Lima to verify that citizens respect the rules established in the emergency framework to contain the advance of COVID-19.

In dialogue with América Noticias, the police chief warned that the organizers and attendees of parties or meetings that take place this Saturday, October 31 for the Day of the Creole Song or Halloween, will be intervened and sanctioned with a fine of up to 300 soles.

"The National Police are going to increase intensive patrolling, intelligence work to identify the so-called COVID-19 parties, which are promoted by social networks. For this we are mobilizing 22,000 troops, in shifts, which will allow the implementation of the National Emergency COVID-19 and Monitoring for Health plans, ”said Cayas, after reiterating that this type of social activities are prohibited.

He also said that the entrance to cemeteries this weekend will be totally prohibited, as well as on November 1 and 2, when All Saints and Dead days are commemorated.

On October 28, President Martín Vizcarra specified that the COVID-19 figures are decreasing, which is why he urged citizens to continue respecting the established measures and provisions. Along these lines, he referred to the celebration of Halloween and asked parents to avoid taking their children out to the streets to ask for sweets.

“We have the day of the Creole song, we have the celebration of Halloween, a custom that is not ours, but that many people celebrate. Please, madam or man, do not expose your children to go out as they did last year, to walk the block, "said the head of state at a press conference.

For her part, the Minister of Health, Pilar Mazzetti, asked all parents to be responsible and not go out with their children regarding the Halloween celebration this Saturday, October 31. Likewise, she urged not to hold meetings between youth and adults for the Creole Song Day on the same date.

“Our children can eventually celebrate at home, share with children at home, there can be meetings through digital media, they can exchange cards. [..] On the street our children touch things, hang out with other people and may be at risk, "he said at a press conference headed by President Martín Vizcarra.

“The Day of the Creole Song is also celebrated. We can celebrate responsibly from home. Large gatherings are not allowed. Being many people together significantly increases the risk of being able to contract COVID-19, "he said.

 

Finally, in the case of the Day of the Dead, on November 2, but which is celebrated the day before, on November 1 because it is a holiday, with the visit to cemeteries, the minister asked to remember our loved ones at home , through photography, exchanging experience, or cooking your favorite dish in life.

"I am sure that all those who have left, the last thing they would want is for us to have a disease as tremendous as COVID-19," he said.
