Manchester United is working towards the return of the fans to the stands
At the moment the British government has postponed the presence of supporters in the stadiums due to a new increase in cases
Old Trafford se está preparando para albergar hasta 23.500 aficionados con distancia social
European football is moving to be able to have an audience in the stadiums, if this week we are already seeing fields with spectators in the stands, for example, yesterday in Ukraine to see the match between Shakhtar and Inter Milan, or in Moscow , where Lokomotiv and the reigning champion, Hans Flick's Bayern met. Both venues welcomed around 10,000 people.

And the news today is that Manchester United's director of operations, Collette Roche, has confirmed that the Old Trafford stadium, which seats about 75,000 spectators, has been modified to ensure the health of fans of the Red Devils and that way prepare the return of the fans to a third of their full capacity.

At the moment, the English fans have not been able to attend any match since March due to the coronavirus pandemic, except in the friendly between Brighton and Chelsea at the stadium of the former, the Falmer Stadium, which has a capacity for host 30,666 spectators and where 2,500 people were allowed to enter. Despite tests like those mentioned above, the British government had hoped to reintroduce the public to the camps in early October, but delayed those plans indefinitely after a spike in cases.

The director of operations of the club wanted to make clear that: "I am convinced that we could accommodate the fans in a safe way. It is quite disconcerting that people can meet in other environments, such as on an airplane or in a restaurant, or even in a cinema to watch football ".

Roche said that United is ready when the government gives the authorization, and fans can attend games. According to forecasts made by the Manchester club, the preparation of the stadium will allow a capacity of 23,500 people while respecting the rules of social distancing at Old Trafford. "We spent around two months working with the government guidelines to develop the correct measures." In addition, she called the government ban "puzzling" because people do have permission to go to cinemas or theaters.
