Ajax made history on October 24, beating VVV-Venlo 13-0, for the sixth day of the Eredivisie, the Netherlands First Division league. The result was the largest ever in domestic competition.

The result surpasses the record that Ajax itself had set in May 1972 in the Dutch league, when they beat Vitesse 12-1 at the Amsterdam Arena, now known as the Johan Cruyff Arena.

The match went into the break at 0-4, with two goals from Traoré, one from Jurgen Ekkelenkamp, and another from Dusan Tadic near the end of the first half, which sapped the morale of the modest VVV-Venlo, who occupies the half from the table.

However, hell for the hosts came in the second half, especially after central defender Christiaan Kum was sent off. Ajax scored five goals in eleven minutes - Traoré, Antony dos Santos, Ekkelenkamp, Daley Blind and again Traoré - between 54 and 65.

In the last fifteen minutes, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, scored a penalty, then another in a play, then the Argentine Lisandro Martínez and finally Traoré, in a counterattack, punched the net again.

Those from Amsterdam dominated from start to finish at the De Koel stadium with 76% possession of the ball and 45 shots in the entire match, 23 of them in between the three sticks. The locals, on the other hand, only reached the goal with three shots and goalkeeper André Onana did not have to intervene in any of them.

Traoré was the man of the match for both his five goals and the three assists he gave.

The Burkina Faso striker signed his first professional contract with Ajax in January 2019 after playing for Burkinabe Rahimo and then moving on to Ajax football school in Cape Town, South Africa.

The 0-13 achieved in Venlo allows Ajax to become provisional leader of the Eredivisie with fifteen points in six games, awaiting what PSV Eindhoven does, who with one game less have thirteen points.
