The 2020 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R continues to exude the aroma of superbikes and is one of the undisputed references in the category despite not receiving more changes than the aesthetic ones in 2020 after its deep renovation the previous year. It stands out for being the direct heir to much of the technology applied by Kawasaki in the World Superbikes that has been dominating with an iron fist in recent years thanks to the talent of Jonathan Rea. And as a tribute, the KRT (Kawasaki Racing Team) colors are offered as the only option available in the basic version. In addition, Kawasaki also launches the SE (Special Edition) version in 2020.

Kawasaki engineers increasingly import more elements used in competition to a motorcycle that is the faithful reflection of the one used in the World Superbikes. A good example is the valve system that allows for breakthrough performance while reliability is not compromised at high revs. Instead of using tappet actuation, using rocker arms saves 20% in mass. This also allows the use of more aggressive cam profiles, a factor that directly affects the power that this mount reaches. The coating on the DLC (Diamond Carbon) rocker arms also mitigates wear.

The use of competition camshafts is another key factor in this new generation, an element that was used for the first time in the first Ninja ZX-10RR. To highlight this detail, all ZX-10R versions from 2019 have the stock painted in red, a feature that is obviously not visible to the naked eye.

With its 203 hp (which can be more than 210 with ram-air), the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R delves into its wild character and continues as one of the most effective motorcycles on the circuit without having received news in a cycle part that had very well raised both at the level of brakes and suspension: Showa signs the BFF front fork and the BFRC lite suspension, while Brembo provides an M50 system starring monoblock radial anchor calipers.

The electronics also remain unchanged since 2018 as it is quite complete thanks to an inertial IMU platform. ABS in curve, exit control, engine brake, traction ... And the engine with several driving modes: Full Power, Middle and Low, which provide 100%, 80% and 60% of power respectively available.

This version enjoys exclusive status in the range thanks to its specific decoration that employs a new Kawasaki high-durability paint that presents the soft and hard segments in the paint layer working together like a chemical spring, thus creating a springboard effect that allows absorb small impacts without damaging its appearance.

Regarding the base version, it incorporates all its improvements at the engine level, including the new semi-automatic KQS gearbox. The driving modes offer more variety than in the standard version.

The highlight is the electronic suspension (KECS) developed with Showa that allows many more configuration options compared to the conventional system.

Marchesini forged wheels top the ZX-10R SE.
