[Sport] Alianza Lima: Gustavo Zevallos ceased to be the club's sports director

Alianza Lima made official the departure of Gustavo Zevallos from the structure of the institution. This Saturday, the Blue and Whites published a statement on the club's official social networks to announce the news.

"The Alianza Lima Club has reached an agreement with Mr. Gustavo Zevallos for his dismissal from the institution, where he worked as sports manager since June 2015," says the note.

Then, the Victorians recognized Zevallos for the work he has done during recent seasons with the professional team. Likewise, the institution has wished the former director the best in the following projects.

"Our club thanks Gustavo for the services provided and achievements made with the first team in recent years, wishing him success in his new endeavors," concludes the statement from Alianza Lima.

Gustavo Zevallos, the five years in Alianza Lima

With Zevallos, in the initial two seasons, Alianza Lima barely managed to qualify for the Copa Sudamericana. However, the story improved in 2017, as he was crowned national champion after eleven years of drought.

Then the Blue and Whites were in contention for the championship in the following seasons. In 2018 he fell in the final against Sporting Cristal. While in 2019 they won the Clausura, but lost to Binacional.

However, this year the results have not been as expected in the sports field. At the outings of players throughout the year, in the Copa Libertadores they march in the last position, but they can still go to the Copa Sudamericana.
