[Software] Google Play reaches 28.3 billion downloads in the third quarter, its all-time high

The Google Pay application store for Android devices saw a record 28.3 billion downloads during the third quarter of this year, a figure 31 percent higher than the same period in 2019.

   The 28.3 billion downloads between July and September on Google Play are its highest figure so far in a single quarter, and are triple the downloads recorded by its rival, the Apple App Store, according to data collected by SafeBettingSites.com .

   In the case of the Apple store, downloads reached their all-time high in the first quarter of this year, with 9.3 billion. Between July and September, app download data fell to 8.2 billion.

   Regarding the number of applications, Google Play reached 2.7 million 'apps' in the second quarter of 2020 (5.85% more than in the previous period), while the App Store is the second in number of content, with 1.82 million applications for iOS (1.2% less than in the first quarter).

   Video games are the most popular category of applications, accounting for 13.49 percent of the total Google Play catalog in the second quarter, followed by education (9.11%), business (6.95%) ) and tools (5.98%)
