Seat-Leon-e-Hybrid-Sportstourer-2021-2-1

SEAT already has a car with a plug: the little electric Mii. But its short life will end as soon as stocks run out. There will be no successor, and it will be the Cupra subsidiary that will sooner rather than later sell more electric cars, but the “S” cars cannot be left behind in the face of fierce competition. For that reason hybridization has come to the León, and after getting to know its five-door side, it is time for the family body, the SEAT León e-Hybrid Sportstourer.

The Martorell station wagon uses the Volkswagen Group's well-known plug-in hybrid system, which we can find in models such as the Skoda Octavia iV and RS iV or the CUPRA Formentor. This powertrain is comprised of a 150 hp turbocharged 1.4-liter gasoline engine that is paired with a 116 hp electric. Total combined power is 204 hp, with 350 Nm of torque, which is transmitted to the front axle via a six-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox (DSG) that sends all power to the front axle.

It can sprint from 0 to 100 km / h in 7.5 seconds, but more importantly, it returns an average fuel consumption of 1.3 l / 100 km according to the WLTP homologation cycle. For its part, the electrical system is powered by a 13 kWh capacity lithium-ion battery that is also responsible for providing power to the air conditioning compressor, which can cool the interior remotely. Finally, it should be mentioned that its autonomy in 100% electric mode is 64 kilometers, enough to achieve the desired ZERO label from the DGT.

On the outside, the model is recognizable by the e-Hybrid logo and the specific set of alloy wheels. Inside, SEAT talks about a “unique” dashboard, but in reality it is just an additional screen in the infotainment system menu that allows to know all the activities of the engine. For its part, the boot has been arranged in a "different" way, something that could mean that its volume has been reduced from the 620 liters of the rest of the versions, but it is a detail that the company has not mentioned. the moment.

As in the compact five-door body, the SEAT León e-Hybrid Sportstourer also offers the possibility of choosing between two lines of trim and equipment:

Xcellence: oriented towards comfort, it incorporates elements such as cruise control, rear parking sensor, differential lock system, 10-inch touch screen navigator and tri-zone climate control, among others.

FR: sporty in character, it adds a sports suspension, a specific body kit, progressive steering system and more.

The respective starting prices are 36,450 euros for the Xcellence finish and 38,400 euros for the FR. The main rivals of the Leon e-Hybrid Sportstourer will be the Renault Megane Sport Tourer E-Tech and the Skoda Octavia Combi iV.
