The Uruguayan attacker changes clubs after six seasons, 198 goals and 13 titles with Barcelona.

Atlético de Madrid and Barcelona have reached an agreement for the transfer of Luis Suárez, both clubs reported on Wednesday.

"Atlético de Madrid and FC Barcelona have reached an agreement for the transfer of Luis Suárez, conditional on the corresponding medical examination and the agreement and subsequent formalization of the new contract of the Uruguayan striker with our entity," said the 'colchonero' club in a release.

The Barça team, meanwhile, specified that "the Madrid team will pay FC Barcelona 6 million euros (6.9 million dollars) in variables."

Neither club specifies the duration of the signing, but, according to the Spanish press, Luis Suárez's contract (33 years) would commit him to the rojiblanco team for the next two seasons.

Suárez exercised this Wednesday for the last time with his Barcelona teammates, before leaving the club's facilities visibly excited aboard his car.
The Uruguayan striker leaves the Barça club in this way, after six seasons in which he has won thirteen titles, including one Champions League and four Spanish leagues.

In addition, he leaves as the third highest historical scorer of the entity with 198 goals, only behind César Rodríguez (232) and his friend Lionel Messi (634).

The Uruguayan striker arrives at Atlético de Madrid to occupy the place left in the lead by Álvaro Morata, who left on loan to Juventus.

After six years as Leo Messi's squire in the Barça attack, Suárez will now have the Spanish-Brazilian Diego Costa as a partner.
