Dr.Drako Posted August 26, 2020 Posted August 26, 2020 BMW Motorrad and renowned coach Bernhard Naumann have presented the new creation from the manufacturer, the BMW Blenchmann R 18. It was in full confinement, at the beginning of April of this year, when the Munich firm announced the arrival of its first cruiser. A model that, based on unforgettable motorcycles like the BMW R 5, represented BMW's heritage and tradition like no other. Using the R 18 as a base, Naumann made the smallest possible changes to both the chassis and the technology of the model, and only used the original anchor points to create the imposing creature that you see here. This is how the BMW Blenchmann R 18 was born Bernhard Naumann, nicknamed Blenchmann ("The shaker"), explains that he prefers to work directly on the bike and not with previous sketches and thus ensure that the proportions are correct: "My work begins by removing parts of the original version until there is a blank canvas. As construction progresses, the design develops. I call it ‘Blechmann-style rapid prototype’ ”, explains the artist. Its version is based on the original support structure of the rear fender, saddle and passenger. But the fuel tank has undergone major changes. A narrower design and cuts in the knee area highlight its sporty character and give more prominence to the engine. The original head tube was used as the base for the handlebar. Blenchmann was also in charge of customizing the kidney-shaped headlights. The steering angle, the forward-sloping headlight and the central filament lamp are also details that highlight the custom character. Unobtrusive black paintwork and classic white BMW Motorrad stripes were the finishing touch to Naumann and his team's 450 hours of work to create the BMW Blenchmann R 18. 2
