The minors were arrested this morning as part of the ongoing investigation, and are being interrogated, a police spokesman informed Efe, who specified that there are already ten people arrested. The incident took place in the middle of this month, when the young woman visited the resort town of Eilat, on the shores of the Red Sea, with a friend, and later reported having been raped by a large group of men while under the influence of alcohol. . According to one of the suspects later, a long line of men queued outside a hotel room and entered one by one to have sex with her. The number of people involved - about thirty - generated a great social and media uproar, and last Thursday it provoked demonstrations in different parts of the country. The largest was in Tel Aviv, where more than a thousand people gathered in the center of the city to show solidarity with the victim and demand stronger policies against sexual violence. The controversy over the case also generated the condemnation of the authorities. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu assured that it was not only a crime against the young woman, but a crime against humanity, and called for those responsible to be brought to justice.
