[News]The Segovian municipalities of Cantalejo and Carrascal are confined due to the high incidence of Covid-19

The Junta de Castilla y León has agreed this Friday to request the confinement of the Segovian towns of Cantalejo and Carrascal del Río, as a result of the Covid-19 outbreaks registered in the last hours.

 

This is how the Autonomous Administration has resolved to request the court, in the same line of what happened days ago with the Valladolid towns of Pedrajas de San Esteban and Íscar or with the Burgos town of Aranda de Duero, whose neighbors have been in this situation for space during two weeks.

 

According to the latest data released by the Ministry of Health, the Basic Health Zone of Cantalejo has 59 cases of Covid-19 diagnosed during the last seven days, which leaves an incidence rate of 61.18 per 10,000 health cards .

 

Precisely in Carrascal del Río, with just 150 inhabitants, three active outbreaks of coronavirurs have already been declared in recent days with about twenty people from various localities linked to them. In fact, in this situation, the mayor has issued a ruling this Monday in which she calls for the voluntary confinement of the po[CENSORED]tion to try to stop the advance of the disease.

 

The Board has made this decision "in view of the epidemiological situation of the declaration of outbreaks and cases" in Cantalejo and Carrascal del Río "and in order to avoid a possible uncontrolled spread of the SARS-CoV-2 infection." The isolation and challenge of measures will take effect this Saturday, August 22.

 

                   

 

The decision includes the restriction of the "free entry and exit of people from the municipalities" except for the displacements, "adequately justified" by attending health centers, services and establishments; fulfillment of labor, professional or business obligations; return to the place of habitual residence; assistance and care for the elderly, minors, dependents, people with disabilities or especially vulnerable people; due to force majeure or situation of need; and any other activity of a similar nature.

 

What residents can do in both terms is to circulate through them, but "travel and non-essential activities are discouraged"

 

It is allowed to circulate by road and roads that pass or cross the territory of said municipalities, as long as they have their origin and destination outside of them.

 

In addition, visits to residential centers for the elderly who may be located in those municipalities are suspended except for individual circumstances, in which additional care and humanization measures are applied, to be adopted by the center's management. Likewise, the exits of the residents abroad are suspended.

 

Participation in any group or meeting of a private or unregulated nature in said municipalities will be limited to a maximum number of ten people, taking place both in public and private spaces, except in the case of cohabiting people.
