The file manager Google Files has introduced a secure folder, a new function with which it allows its users to deposit their private contents in a file protected with a four-digit PIN.

The Google Files secure folder protects important files every time the user stops using the application, and then requires code to access them. In this way, it prevents other people from accessing the content when the application has been left open in the background.

The new function, which is specially designed so that people who share a device, such as family members or couples, can maintain privacy, as Google has assured in a statement.

The new feature is now available in Google Files, an application that already has more than 150 million regular users every month around the world and has deleted more than a billion digital junk files, which would have taken more than 30,000 years remove manually.
