The governing body of Peruvian sports gave its approval to the FPF's proposal for the return of the contest
Through a statement, the Peruvian Sports Institute (IPD) reported its approval for League 1 to be played again thanks to "the measures and commitments adopted" for the development of the Peruvian championship. The Apertura Tournament will continue its course from Tuesday, August 18, confirmed the agency.

 

The governing body of the national sport considered viable the proposal of the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) for the return of the competition and authorized its resumption for next week.

 

The IPD highlighted that “a plan of awareness and prevention campaigns has been developed and disseminated in order to achieve appropriate behavior among soccer fans, promoting respect for preventive measures in matters of health and safety, within the framework of of the state of emergency ordered by the COVID-19 pandemic ”.
It was also announced that there were "coordination with the General Command of the National Police to provide and strengthen security conditions for the development of scheduled games."

 

The teams that compete in the highest category of Peruvian football are warned. "Sanctions will be applied to clubs and athletes who fail to comply with the provisions established in the elaborated biosecurity protocols approved by the IPD in coordination with the Minsa," the statement reads.

 

League 1 was suspended indefinitely after the disorders carried out by University fans in the return of the tournament, after five months of paralysis due to the pandemic.
