Matthijs de Ligt, a Juventus player, will undergo surgery on his right shoulder and will miss the first months of the new season. The Dutchman will treat the injury that has affected him for some time and whose intervention he was postponing.

According to information from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Matthijs de Ligt will go under the knife this week to solve the problem. The 20-year-old defender "will return to football in mid-November," said the Italian media.

“It is something that must necessarily be done. That will be my focus from now on, because I will need some time to recover, "said De Ligt, after the elimination of Juventus, in the second round of the Champions League, at the hands of Olympique Lyon.

After the operation, Matthijs de Ligt will undergo an intense rehabilitation and physiotherapy program. In this way, the athlete will only be able to work in the new Juventus in three months, under the leadership of the Italian Andrea Pirlo, who took the place of Maurizio Sarri.

Matthijs de Ligt arrived at Juventus in mid-2019 from Ajax. The footballer was signed in exchange for 85.5 million euros, with a contract until mid-2024.
