This predisposition is making the tuners who use to put modern and powerful engines in classic cars to use electricity to catch up. Perhaps for some this use is a sacrilege, however, the acceleration capacity has no comparison. One of the most recent and spectacular projects to turn a vintage car into an electric one is this 1967 Mustang Fastback created by Aviar Motors Russian. Although it is not the first classic car or Mustang to be converted to electric, the interesting thing about this muscle car baptized as R67 is that it takes the electrical system and other components of the Tesla Model S. To make a total transformation of the vehicle, the Russian tuner developed a composite and aluminum chassis with the aim of increasing rigidity and safety. On top of this new frame, the Mustang received a body made entirely of carbon fiber to further increase lightness and thereby improve acceleration capacity. As part of the exterior restoration, the body was endowed with lines and elements that allow it to optimize styling and aerodynamics. Without a doubt, what is most striking is the spoiler that changes position according to speed. This new look is accompanied by a set of 20-inch aluminum wheels, high-performance tires -245 / 40R20 front and 305 / 30R20 rear-, LED headlights, as well as chrome trim and fenders. In addition to taking the battery, motors, and gearbox from the Tesla Model S, this Aviar Motors Russian Mustang also accommodates adaptive suspension, which, in addition to modifying stiffness, can vary the elevation of the body. While all of the above is outstanding, the amount of power and performance is even more so. By means of two electric motors - which make it an all-wheel drive car - this R67 registers 840 hp, which when put into action allow it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in just 2.2 seconds. The maximum speed is 250 km / h because it is electronically limited. This performance is accompanied by a high-performance braking system, stability and traction control, and an external audio system that simulates the operation of the engine and exhaust system of the legendary Shelby GT500. Where this Mustang also shows signs of the Tesla Model S is in the interior created for two passengers. Equip the same 17.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation, 11-speaker audio system, keyless entry and start, LED ambient interior lighting, dual-zone climate control, and panoramic sunroof. Finally, this electric Mustang occupies the Tesla's 100 kWh battery with a range of 500 kilometers and the semi-autonomous driving system. 2
