It measures no more than a Porsche Boxster and weighs just 16 kilos more than a Suzuki Swift Sport. But it has an aspirated V12, more than 650 Hp
In times of electrification, high-tech, and autonomous driving, it's refreshing to know that there are cars that still raise their fists for the "old-fashioned" driving experience. And we are not talking about an ordinary car, but rather a true thoroughbred sports car, one that will stand out among the complex "spaceships" that some European manufacturers develop.

This car is the T.50, the most personal project of Gordon Murray, the famous designer who is recognized as "the father of the McLaren F1", one of the most acclaimed and admired sports cars in the world. The historic McLaren model has already gone down in history as a unique legend and despite the fact that the same British company created the Speedtail as a tribute, only Murray could be able to create the true successor to his work. The T.50 is for all things, a McLaren F1 of today, manufactured with the same philosophy, but improved in every aspect.

Art and engineering
The T.50 gets its name from celebrating 50 years since Murray began designing single-seaters and sports cars. True to its British spirit, it displays a purist, elegant and timeless design, paired with the highest quality construction. For the same reason, it does not have flashy ailerons or fancy aerodynamic parts, save for the huge 400mm fan that can be seen at the rear and which is a tribute to the Brabhams that he designed for F1.

Like the McLaren F1 to which it succeeds, their shapes are very similar. Share the doors that open to the sky and the windows like fighter plane. Even some design or proportion features are similar, but the closest thing is the interior, which retains the three-seat layout, with the driver in the center position.

Body and chassis
The entire car was made from high-quality carbon fiber, offering a high degree of torsional rigidity.
The bodywork is so light that the entire body of the car weighs less than 150 kilos, in addition to offering a safety just like a Formula 1 car.
All glass used for the windshield or windows is 28% thinner than usual, to reduce weight.
The car weighs just 986 kilos, that's 16 kilos more than a Suzuki Swift Sport. It means that it is the lightest supercar to date.
Its size is comparable to that of a Porsche Boxster, for reference.

Aerodynamics
The car features a 400mm diameter fan, active panels under the chassis and two dynamic spoilers that help deliver an unmatched level of aerodynamic and driving efficiency.
In addition, it has six modes to regulate the aerodynamics: Auto, High Downforce, Streamline, Braking, Test, V-Max Boost.
Streamline mode mimics the aerodynamic phenomenon of a long tail or "Longtail" as we have seen in various McLarens and also in many sports cars and competition prototypes.
V-Max Boost Mode raises power to 690 Hp (700 PS), assisting the engine as air induction.

Motor
3.9-liter V12, fully aspirated and created exclusively for this car by Cosworth.
Reaches 663 PS (653 Hp) at 11,500 rpm and 344 lb.-ft. at 9,000 rpm (with 71% available from 2,500 rpm)
The tachometer reaches 12,100 rpm, the highest spinning street-aspirated engine.
Additionally, it can statistically lift 28,400 revolutions per second, making it the fastest responding aspirated engine.
It advertises 163 Hp per liter.
As if that weren't enough, it's the lightest V12 ever built in a production car, weighing just 178 kilos.
The engine features a "GT mode" that activates a gentler combustion map for everyday use, urban or highway.
Transmission
Six-speed manual gearbox provided by Xtrac, made of aluminum.
The unit weighs just 80.5 kilos.
It has five short gears and a long sixth only designed for road use.

Structural and dynamic developments
It has a weight / power ratio of 150.77 kilos per 100 PS (98 Hp)
It also uses a double wishbone suspension, made of forged aluminum.
Steering is simple, rack and pinion, with hydraulic assistance only for low speed maneuvers.
The engine and transmission are a structural part of the car, for greater strength and less weight.

Interior and comfort
Seat three adults comfortably.
It has a trunk, believe it or not and with up to 288 liters of capacity.
Its clearance of between 120 and 140 mm allows it to be used daily without hitting stops.
It has a 10-speaker, 700-watt audio system, plus support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Although it is a minimalist and sporty car, all the materials used are of the highest quality.
In the words of its proud creator: “Only 100 customers will share my vision, a car created in order to improve the McLaren F1 formula in every conceivable way. With 30 years of technological advancements, now is the time to design the best analog car to drive. I believe that no other company will succeed in developing what we will launch in 2022. Producing this British sports car will be my proudest moment in life. "

The T.50 will cost about 2.36 million pounds and is made in England, as are the vast majority of all its parts. If I were Murray, I would also be very proud.
