Four former managers of the Audi car company have been accused of "fraud" by the Munich City Prosecutor's Office (Germany) for their role in the case of 'software' that altered the emissions of some of the company's diesel vehicles when they were being laboratory test object.

In this sense, the former executives of the Volkswagen group firm have been accused of "fraud, false indirect certification and misleading advertising".

Prosecutors argue that these four people learned of the existence of these devices that were installed in vehicles to adulterate emissions tests between October 2013 and September 2015, but did not prevent the sale of these models. Now it will be the Munich court who will decide whether these charges are admissible and whether the former Audi executives will be tried or not.

This accusation comes just a month before the former CEO of Audi, Rupert Stadler, will be tried as of September 30 in Germany for his responsibility in this case of diesel.

Stadler, who was Audi boss from 2007 to 2018, has repeatedly denied any knowledge of or involvement in the scandal. Arrested in June 2018, according to DPA, he will be tried along with three other executives and engineers of the firm.

All of this after the Volkswagen automobile group admitted in September 2015 to have mani[CENSORED]ted more than 11 million diesel cars worldwide by placing a device that altered the actual emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx) under test from laboratory.
