YaKuZa--BoSs Posted August 6, 2020 Posted August 6, 2020 Dylan Groenewegen has released his first message after yesterday's terrifying first-leg crash of the Tour of Poland, in a massive sprint downhill, more than 70 kilometers per hour. "I hate what happened yesterday. I cannot find the words to describe how sorry I am for Fabio and others who have been beaten. At the moment, Fabio's health is the most important thing. I think about him constantly," he wrote on his profile of Twitter The Dutch runner was fighting for victory when his compatriot Fabio Jakobsen was trying to overtake him on the right side, the side closest to the billboards. In a highly criticized and dangerous move, Groenewegen raised his right elbow and leaned a bit toward his rival's bike, causing him to lose control and crash into protections. Jakobsen is in the hospital, "stable" within gravity, with significant facial injuries and in "induced coma" for the time being. The organization of the event made the decision to disqualify Groenewegen, who had reached the finish line first, and award the victory to Jakobsen. The CEO of the Jakobsen team has announced that he will take legal action against Groenewegen, considering that the Dutchman had carried out "a criminal act". 1
