YaKuZa--BoSs Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 The organization definitively renounces taking the test this year The organization of the Penyagolosa Trails, which due to the Covid-19 pandemic delayed its celebration from April to October, announced on Monday its definitive cancellation for this year. One of the athletic events that brings together top-level athletes in the province of Castellón cannot be held this year due to the health situation caused by Covid-19. Despite the fact that the organization was pressing the deadlines, finally the decision was to suspend the 2020 edition. In a statement, the organizing team regretted this fact because "we knew it was not going to be as usual, but we were confident that we could achieve it", but finally, "we announced the news that we did not want to give you. The Penyagolosa Trails HG celebration is postponed to the 2021 edition, which will take place between April 23 and 25, 2021 ”. “The Penyagolosa Trails HG organization's first priority has always been to guarantee the safety of all people: runners, volunteers, organization personnel, the public and the local po[CENSORED]tion in general. Our hope was that the overall situation and sanitary conditions would be good enough to hold the races in October. Unfortunately, the circumstances are far from being ideal to guarantee essential security conditions, "he explains. The race consists of two tests: Penyagolosa Trails CSP, which is a 109-kilometer ultra-trail, with a cumulative elevation difference of 5,600 meters and a descent of 4,400 meters, and the Penyagolosa Trails MiM is a resistance test in semi-self-sufficiency regime in which, in a maximum time of 15 hours, runners must complete 60 kilometers. With this, those runners registered for this year, are those who will be part of the test in April 2021 when the organization trusts that it can be carried out. 2
