SougarLord Posted July 30, 2020 Share Posted July 30, 2020 Accounting for the sales and production figures for June, Toyota indicated that in the first six months of the year it sold 4.16 million units, 21.6 percent less than in the first half of 2019. The 16.9 percent reduction in global sales for June is below that of May, which was 34.1 percent, 45.3 percent in April, and 22.6 percent in March, when the group began to feel the drop in the demand for vehicles due to the coronavirus pandemic. Global sales mentioned include both Toyota and Lexus vehicles as well as Daihatsu and Hino brand vehicles. Daihatsu has been a Toyota subsidiary since 2016, and so is Hino, which focuses on buses, trucks, and other commercial vehicles. As for regions, Toyota and Lexus sales in China, currently its main market, rose 22.8 percent in June, while in the United States they fell 26.7 percent. Until the end of 2019, the United States was the first country in sales for Toyota.
