UEFA confirmed that the match between Real Madrid and Manchester City in the upcoming Champions League next week will take place as planned, despite the emergence of a positive situation with the new Corona virus for the Royal player Mariano Diaz, according to Reuters news agency.

On Tuesday, the Spanish club announced that striker Mariano was infected with the Corona virus, which raises doubts about his participation in the match that will be held on the eighth of August at the Al-Ittihad stadium.

"We are communicating with the club to monitor the situation and the decisions of the Spanish authorities concerned," UEFA said in a statement to British media. "We are confident that this case will not affect the normal game.

Real Madrid lost two goals to a goal from Man City in the first leg of the round of 16 in Madrid before the competition stopped last March.
