The new T8 is an evolution of the T6 pick up already presented by JAC. It offers a more modern appearance, greater equipment and features.

JAC, presented last week in Peru, its new T8 pickup, which will be offered in two versions of traction with the same engine and the same level of equipment. This pick up is an evolution on the platform of the T6, improving many of its aspects, including ride comfort, interior finishes and aesthetic details.

We were able to test this pick up in Chile at the beginning of the year.

Changes in the new JAC T8
The new JAC T8 is technically a T6, but improved. The chassis and structure, as you can guess from the door design, is exactly the same, just like its engine. The gearbox was improved in its manufacturing quality, especially the synchronizers and lever actuation, the suspension calibration was revised, the wheels are larger and we have a disc brake system on the rear axle. In addition, the electronic management of the engine had a new preparation, so that the use of power and torque is more effective.

They are measures are discreetly larger than those of the T6, due to a more prominent front, with a new "shield" grille and new design lights, as well as fenders with plastic moldings. In the rear, the design of the rear lights and the one of the bumpers were changed, but these do not have much inference in the dimensions. Finishes, 18 "wheels and new running boards.

The size of the loading hopper is maintained with respect to the T6, with a size of 1: 1 ratio between length and width, with 1,520 mm and 470 mm depth, but its loading capacity increases from 820 to about 900 kilos. It also offers plastic hooks on the outside, a protective coating and a double A (imitation anti-tip) sports bar.

Interior and equipment of the JAC T8
Most notable inside, is undoubtedly the strong soundproofing work done, compared to the T6. The quality of the assemblies has improved remarkably, which we hope will not come loose very soon with use. The main console is technically the same as the T6, but it receives new aerators with aluminum-like finishes and a soft-touch padded plate with visible seams, which raise the level of perceived quality quite a bit. The rest is exactly the same, including the instrument panel with two clocks and a small screen for the on-board computer.

The equipment of the Comfort version includes:

JAC offers the T8 4x2 at an introductory price of $ 16,990 and the 4x4 version at $ 18,690.
