[NEWS] Catalonia prohibits the 'large bottle' to stop the outbreaks and fined offenders with up to 15,000 euros

The Generalitat of Catalonia has decided to ban the large bottle to stop the outbreaks of Covid-19 in the community.

The "shared consumption of alcoholic beverages on public roads" will be sanctioned with between 3,000 and 15,000 euros. Although it is the Generalitat who imposes the ban, it will be the municipalities that must control compliance with the order and sanction its non-compliance. Although the practice of the bottle was already prohibited in many Catalan municipalities, the Generalitat has decided to extend the ban to the entire region.

This new ban comes just four days after the Generalitat ordered the closing of discos and dance halls and limited the opening of restaurants and terraces until midnight. Alcohol consumption had moved to the streets, squares and beaches of Catalonia, hence the new restriction of the Catalan Government.
