In order to find solutions to the problems that COVID_19 has been able to cause to all those students who were scheduled to stay abroad, to reinforce their training this summer, The Georgian Manor House has contacted the teachers of the best international schools and colleges to offer online summer courses for their students.

These are real-time courses, taught by teachers from prestigious educational centers such as Oxford, Cambridge, ESADE or the London School of Economics, among others, and designed for students aged twelve to twenty. The duration of the courses is ten, twenty or thirty hours, depending on the program, and can be adapted to the level of each student.

 

1. PRICE AND ART MARKET
The Georgian Manor House launches the first art appraisal course for teenagers at the hands of the director of a prestigious auction house, professor of degrees and masters at the University of Barcelona. In this course, the youngest will learn how a work of art is priced, how the world of auctions, galleries, museums and antiques works, how to distinguish between an authentic and a fake work and, above all , how to train your artistic eye.

 

2. INTRODUCTION TO ART HISTORY
A review of the most important periods that will provide the student with an introduction to the different styles and their reference teachers. From antiquity to contemporary art, students will acquire the tools to distinguish between different periods and main authors. The approach is very practical, so you will learn by analyzing the most prestigious works of art and techniques.

 

3. INTELLIGENCE, ESPIONAGE AND MANAGEMENT OF INTERNATIONAL SECURITY CRISIS
At a time when terrorism, security crises and warfare are common, understanding how the world of intelligence, security and conflict management between countries works is paramount.

This course, taught by a professor and command post of a prestigious international intelligence agency, will teach the student how an intelligence office works, what is a secret agent and what it does, what intelligence services there are, what are the main operations carried out carried out by secret agents at the international level and what their missions consist of.

 

4. INTERNATIONAL MARKETING

This course, taught by professors and doctoral students from the universities of Oxford or Cambridge, will introduce the student to topics as current as DNA and genetic editing CRISPR, superbugs, resistance to antibiotics, stem cell research, introduction to biotechnology and pharmacology or the design of vaccines, formulas and drugs.

 

6. INTRODUCTION TO ENGINEERING
This course is ideal for all those interested in learning about the world of engineering up close. It is taught by professors or doctoral students from the universities of Oxford or Cambridge and varies according to the age of the student and her interest.

The topics to be discussed are: Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Fluid Mechanics, Materials Science, Nanostructures, Software Engineering, Aerodynamics, Force, Pressure and Resistance, among others. 7. ARTISTIC PORTFOLIO
Are you going to apply for a place at an international art, design, architecture or product university? One of the key requirements for admission will be that you submit a set of artwork to a court that will evaluate your creative talent.

The Georgian Manor House has designed a program with a prestigious gallery owner and curator, graduated from the well-known Central Saint Martins in London, who will guide you in the creation and design of your artistic portfolio. Students will work on research, concept, and artistic development.

 

 

8. APPLICATION FOR A PLACE TO UNIVERSITIES ABROAD
This is a workshop taught by the university orientation team of The Georgian Manor House, which has been guiding students from Spain and other countries in the complicated process of applying for places to universities abroad for ten years.
