Everything was supposed to be known on July 8, but in Mexico they were ahead of the news. Mazda 3 Turbo will have more than 200 Hp and AWD traction.

In Mexico, with the quarantine, surely the calendar was run, because Mazda Mexico, in a quite elaborate video, declassified the specifications of the launch of the new Mazda 3 Turbo in an official video.

At least in Mexico, the presale will start on July 20 to begin deliveries towards the end of the year. We would not be surprised to see it also in Chile, considering that turbocharged versions have already been incorporated into other products in the range, specifically with the same engine.

What do you need to know?

The engine is the 2.5-liter turbo four-cylinder with 227 hp and 420 Nm of torque.

The drive is all-wheel drive and the transmission is 6-speed automatic.

This year it only arrives in a hatchback version, however, by the beginning of 2021 there will also be a sedan configuration.
Two levels of equipment will be available: i Grand Touring and Signature, which in Chile can be equivalent to the GT and GTX level.
It has seven airbags, a blind spot monitor, a reverse camera, a cross traffic alert, etc.

The Signature version incorporates: Bose audio with 12 speakers, steering wheel paddles, leather trim, Head-Up Display and directional headlights.
Although it is not a return of the Mazdaspeed division, the Mazda 3 Turbo 2021 does represent the rebirth of a more sporty-oriented version within the range of the Hiroshima signature compact. By employing the 2.5-liter torquero with a four-wheel drive system, handling should ensure excellent levels of both response and grip. A Subaru WRX light?

The propeller as we already pointed out, is the same that already militates in the GTX versions of Mazda 6, CX-5 and CX-9. In a smaller car, it must be awesome.
