YaKuZa--BoSs Posted July 4, 2020 Posted July 4, 2020 The tour of the Kings of Spain by the Autonomous Communities has also presented its new representation car, the Mercedes-Benz Maybach S 600 Guard, which cost more than half a million euros. When Mercedes-Benz built the S600 Guard Maybach armored model in 2016, they had already received requests from States in need of the safest car in the world in the face of the scourge of international terrorism. One of the first, if not the first, copies was for Germany and has since been one of Chancellor Angela Merkel's 'offices' (although she alternates it with the Audi A8 L W12). Almost at the same time, it was the Royal House of Belgium that received this model to protect its King, Felipe I. A few years later, in 2019, the Spanish State approved the purchase of this five-and-a-half meter long saloon. With him, Don Felipe and Doña Letizia are making a visit to the autonomous communities in order to express their closeness to all after the months of confinement, sadness, duels and concerns. THE S600 PULLMAN GUARD DE ... KIM JONG-UN It was not the same car, because it has even more power and is bigger, but the image of North Korean President Kim Jong-Un, visiting Vladimir Putin aboard a Mercedes Maybach S600 Pullman Guard (more than six meters from limousine) caused certain turmoil in Daimler. The company, annoyed and embarrassed, was forced to publish a statement showing its ignorance about how a car of almost a million euros could have reached the Korean property, which it could not have accessed due to trade sanctions. When the two Koreas got closer and the 'Great Leader' crossed the border, he also traveled aboard that Mercedes Maybach. THE JEWELS AND THE CROWNS In security matters there is high global competition. For the presidency of the United States, the Cadillac One, nicknamed The Beast, is irreplaceable; Vladimir Putin is delighted with his Aurus Senat and Chinese President Xi Jinping feels more than confident in his Hongqi L5. The Roll & Rolls Phantom Series II is used by the monarchy that reigns in Malaysia, while the Emperors of Japan enjoy the Toyota Century Royal. In India, the maximum representation travels in the Mercedes S 600 Pullman Maybach Guard and the Queen of England does not walk if not with the Bentley State Limousine, one of the most expensive jewels in the Crown, valued at 10 million euros. The exacerbated luxury in the interior of the S600 Guard Maybach is not what makes the price more expensive compared to those who buy it without that special security that must be ordered before construction, since the armor is not something additional, but structural to guarantee the maximum security. Spain has paid 549,945 euros for the car, while a more or less anonymous billionaire or a company would have acquired the 'normal' model of representation for a quarter of a million. The Guard label is responsible for doubling the price. And surely such an increase in the bill will seem reasonable if we can explain it well. SAFE FOR BULLETS, PUMPS, GRENADES ... The materials that base the construction of this rolling bunker are of the highest quality and safety. They are also not easy to extract some of them. Even steels have a specific range of consistency and are combined with titanium or kevlar, a highly resistant fiber that is used in the automotive industry for its lightness and also in the manufacture of, among many other objects, bulletproof vests. An essential product for the security of the armor is aramid, another polyamide -like kevlar- widely used in the military, especially naval, industries. In the Mercedes S600, aramid slows down shooting effects that can hardly penetrate the luxurious interior. The car of the Kings of Spain - which will also take foreign heads of state on their visits - is the first to reach the VR10 protection level (the previous S600 Guard was also the first to reach the VR9 degree of security against attacks). That means hardened-core bullets from 7.62mm assault rifles, such as the Spanish Army's HK G36 or the AK47 known as Kaláshnikov. Another weapons rating is the 2010 ERV: it means that a powerful explosion, equivalent to 15 kilos of dynamite two meters away, would not end the lives of up to four Guard passengers. Communication systems and technology in general, with infrared vision and many other lesser-known applications, also have an extraordinary scope and further strengthen the sense of security of the world authorities who are going to travel in the Maybach. The Mercedes-Benz S600 Maybach Guard (5.54m in length, 4,500kg in weight) mounts the six-liter V12 engine and develops 530 horsepower to reach a top speed of 290 kilometers per hour. In terms of comfort, it has all the sophistication of the street saloon, although there is still more space for the rear occupants, who can rest peacefully in the cushioned 'executive' reclining seats, heated, ventilated together with a center console.
