The intention expressed by the club a week ago was to continue trusting Celades' coaching staff until the end of the season, although it was already decided that he would not fulfill his contract, which included continuing to lead the team also next season. In fact, the club has already had contacts with other technicians and Onda Cero Valencia yesterday pointed out contacts with Ernesto Valverde, who already trained Valencia in the pre-Lim stage. The issue focused on finding someone to sit on the bench until July 20. And the gaze is always towards the same name: Voro González.

The former player, who served for years as a delegate, had become a kind of link between the club's management and the first team, although his figure had gone into the background in the last two seasons. Now, he will have the responsibility of ensuring that Valencia ends the season with dignity and, if possible, qualified to play the Champions League or the Europa League next season.

It is not the first time that Voro has taken the reins in difficult times. He first assumed them in 2008, when the bet on Ronald Koeman left the team on the verge of relegation. He repeated later, already with Meriton on the property, after the dismissals of Nuno, Ayestarán and Prandelli. Its premiere will be on Wednesday against Athletic in Mestalla.

It is the second time in the Peter Lim stage that Valencia has accumulated more than one coach in one season, since Celades' dismissal is joined by Marcelino García Toral on September 12.
