Volkswagen has selected 150 employees from Germany who will test the new electric hatchback ID.3 for a few weeks, in order to obtain real data about the performance of the new model.

Deliveries of Volkswagen ID.3 will start in Europe in September, and until then the German manufacturer is trying to obtain as much statistics as possible on how the car will be used by end customers.
Therefore, the German manufacturer selected by lot 150 employees who will receive a test ID.3 for a few weeks. Volkswagen mentions in the announcement that the winning employees work at the plants in Zwickau, Chemnitz and Dresden.

The 150 test units are not yet equipped with the final software version for ID.3, but the Germans mention that the cars will receive regular updates during the few weeks of testing to identify any bugs. .

In fact, Volkswagen has faced many software problems for ID.3. Customers who opt for ID.3 delivery in early September will have two software features disabled.

One of the functions is App Connect, which allows you to connect your phone to your car through compatibility with Android Auto or Apple Car Play. Another function that will be deactivated initially is the one associated with the Head-Up Display system that allows the display of navigation directions as a three-dimensional image at an apparent distance of 3 to 10 meters.

Both features will be activated through a software update early next year.

Instead, customers who will agree to wait for delivery by the last quarter of the year (between October and December) will receive both functions already activated.
