The Community of Madrid will increase the offer of public transport to 100% from Monday and will continue with a plan of gradual de-escalation in the collective means; despite the fact that the state of alarm will decline on June 22 and restrictions adopted during the pandemic, such as interprovincial mobility, will be removed.

"Even knowing that Phase 3 will not exist in Madrid, we will propose a scenario that for transport will be as if it existed", the Minister of Transport, Mobility and Infrastructure, Ángel Garrido, assured the media, after presenting the agreed measures with Full Inclusion Madrid to facilitate the use of the Metro for people with functional diversity.

Thus, Garrido has indicated that the recovery of the use of public transport is being noticed and that he is changing "little by little the way of using it". These modifications include authorization from the central government to use all public transport seats and increase the passenger density to two per square meter; decisions that came into effect with the arrival of Phase 2 in the region.

In this line, it has detailed that until last Friday, 37 percent of the users that the network had a year ago registered, a percentage that increased to 43% on Saturday; figures that contrast with those recorded during the most restrictive stage of confinement, in which the use of public transport was around 10 percent.

"It is important that in the de-escalation we do not make decisions that later we may not be very sure about. More people are joining us, but we want it to be as safe as possible," said the counselor.

On the other hand, when asked about the reopening of Spain to the Schengen area from Sunday, he underlined that the return of tourism to the country and to the Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport, one of the largest poles of air traffic, has to be done. "coordinated and normally" and that "appropriate measures" will be taken from your area.

"With the University Access Assessment, when the kids are going to do the tests, as we reinforce the service. In the event that more travelers arriving from the airport join, we will also reinforce the service in those areas," said Garrido, who has acknowledged that from Monday they will be at their maximum capacity, but that they are incorporated "with the necessary measures".
