Max Nicu (37 years old), the football player perceived by many as a savior of the national team at the end of the 2000s, sees his life course in Germany, where he is the coach of a team from the lower echelons.

The footballer who surprised in 2009, when he took his Romanian citizenship and was called up to the national team, retired from football two years ago and decided to train and train with the Prien am Chiemsee team.

"At the moment I am a coach at Prien am Chiemsee. It's ok, the team plays in the eighth league, I enjoy coaching the players. I train with them and I also play when I feel like it.

Apart from that, I am a TV commentator at DAZN for the matches in Spain and Italy ", said Max Nicu, in an interview for Liga2.ro.

Nicu is on the scales and does not know if he will do a job for life in coaching, but the new profession is challenging him for now.

"I'm not sure if the coaching job is right for me. At the moment I enjoy it and I don't know if I want to go through the experience for 17 more years, in which I traveled a lot through Germany and other countries.

It's not easy, and as a coach you have to be flexible. I am currently working with my brother Christopher at a football and coaching school for young footballers. I think this area suits me better.

I want to involve Romania in this project as well. But as a coach, I don't think I will work in the future ", Max Nicu also said for the quoted source.

Born in Germany, Max Nicu collected 70 matches in the Bundesliga, at Hertha Berlin and Freiburg, between 2008-2012. In 2014, he worked for six months at the University of Cluj, this being his only experience in Romania.
