On Friday, June 5, the licensing process for the European cups in the 2020/2021 season ended. The Romanian Football Federation (FRF) announced that Astra Giurgiu did not receive the right to participate in continental competitions.

 

The people from Giurgiu applied for the FRF license, in the idea that they could play in the Europa League in the next edition. Astra is on the fourth place in League 1, with real chances to win a place in Europe on the field.

However, according to Digi Sport sources, there are not enough sanitary points on the stadium in Giurgiu, so the group in which Budescu and Alibec play does not meet the UEFA criteria.
