Dr.Drako Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 (edited) The year was 1995, times when unfortunately for any citizen of this country the terrorist group ETA acted with great force and with many means. The one who at that time was the candidate for the presidency of the government of Spain, José María Aznar, was in the crosshairs of the terrorists. A bomb was detonated shortly after 8 in the morning, at the crossroads between José Silva and Arturo Soria streets in the city of Madrid. Aznar's official car was an Audi V8 with a very strong armor, which allowed him to escape unscathed. Unfortunately, there were about fifteen wounded and one fatality. Now that car that literally saved his life is up for auction. Many collectibles and historical vehicles from “Desguaces La Torre” will be available in an online auction from July 2 to 7. There are not a few striking, classic and historical cars that can be purchased, but honestly, the vehicle that has caught our attention the most for everything it meant on that morning of April 19, 1995. To mention just a few renowned models available in this auction, which, incidentally, will be carried out by the International Auction Group (IAG Auction), we can talk about cars such as a 1924 Hispano Suiza, a beautiful 97 Ferrari 355 Spider, a Metallurguique 18 CV from 1914 and even a perfectly restored Renault Fredes Billantcourt from 1900. Another historic car is the 1937 Ford 817T, which was one of five cars used by Francisco Franco during the Civil War. Finally, historical competition cars such as Citroën AX Proto from 1993 Rally Champion of Spain, a unique model in the world with a handcrafted volumetric compressor motor, or the Hispakart Formula IV of the 60s among many more models.
