Dr.Drako
It was in 2018 when we met the Nissan GT-R50 from Italdesign in concept form. His reception was so good that soon it was confirmed that he would reach the production lines. Since then we have not had much news, although to be honest. Nissan had managed to keep it in our minds, after all it was created to celebrate half a century of Godzilla's life, but thanks to its Japanese-Italian mystique, it even outshone the GT-R 50th Anniversary, unveiled at the New York 2019. Which is supposed to be the official holiday version. The production version of the Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign had to have been presented at the Geneva Motor Show, but due to its cancellation the plans had to change. The mostly virtual event was re-scheduled to May 20, and the launch site was at the Tazio Nuvolari circuit in Cervesina, where Italdesign tests its creations. It was there that the only 50 units that make up the limited series of the GT-R50 were presented. The delivery to its lucky owners will begin at the end of the present 2020. According to Italdesign, despite its stratospheric price of 990,000 Euros, its success has been undeniable. By the way, interested customers are supposed to be in the process of customizing their cars. “This is a very special day after extremely difficult weeks for everyone. After we had to give up the world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show and, after the momentary suspension of our production activities due to COVID-19, we have returned to 100% and can confirm the delivery of the first GT-Rs 50 ”, said Jörg Astalosch, CEO of Italdesign. The Nissan GT-R50 from Italdesign is based on the GT-R Nismo. The power therefore comes from a hand-built 3.8-liter V6 biturbo engine specially tuned by Nismo to deliver 710 Hp and 780 Nm of torque. Undoubtedly, the GT-R 50 is a work of art, an immediate classic, that will make fifty people happy worldwide, while making thousands or millions dream of having this Japanese-Italian jewel. 1
