We enter the spectacular villa of the Vista Alegre urbanization in which the Dukes of Sussex have rested this summer. A house designed by the architect Fernando de Castro, with interior design by Gunni & Trentino, of which Arquitectura y Diseño has an exclusive report.

This porch is the current version of the spontaneous forgings of juniper trunks and shingles of the old peasant houses. The furniture is the Bitta model, a design by Rodolfo Dordoni for Kettal

The floor of the bedrooms looks out onto the double height living room. A glass partition reveals the large kitchen, flooding everything with natural light.

If we had to make a list of the celebrities that go through Ibiza every summer to enjoy its beaches and its parties, we would most likely spend days. Although if we have something clear it is that the protagonists of this story did not go precisely to a mass club to stick some dances. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, practically incognito, were in Ibiza from 6 to 12 August on a lightning journey that has raised many blisters in the United Kingdom. Why? Well, because the getaway, which coincided with the 38th anniversary of the Duchess of Sussex, has been financed by public coffers. Debates aside, what we can tell you with all kinds of details, because we have been inside and have made this unique photographic report, is the place where they rested away from curious and paparazzi: the spectacular and exclusive villa Vista Alegre, in Sa Calma . A very Architecture and Design space.

This villa, designed by the architect Fernando de Castro, with interior design by Gunni & Trentino, rests on a hillside that plunges into the sea, forming a cliff with two coves of turquoise water. This walk connects the different heights of the garden and the spectacular villa. On the slope two large platforms are configured, which in turn correspond to the two floors of the building. The longitudinal platform of the volume adapts comfortably to the topography and also allows all rooms to be oriented with direct views of the sea, especially the beautiful bay of Porroig.

The main volume of the house has been built on the upper platform, which includes two floors: the double-height living areas, the dining room, the kitchen and a service area are housed below; upstairs three bedrooms en suite and an office. Also on this level is the large infinity pool that runs parallel to the house, like a swimming pool. An impressive pool of almost 60 meters in length, tracing a virtual horizon line of absolute continuity with the sea, from the rising of the sun to the setting of ... The porch has been arranged around this upper floor of the main volume. It is another important element of the project, from where you can savor the sweetness of the landscape.

The lower platform, with its four suites, the gym, the spa, the laundry, the cellar and other facilities, merges with the hillside and is offered as part of the garden. The careful gardening work linked to architectural design is striking. With gigantic wooden beams brought in from a Dutch port, a cantilever has been built over the cliff, turning part of the garden into a privileged viewpoint over the Mediterranean.
